Brantford Brantford pottery was available from 1849-1907. In general, Brantfold pottery produced pieces typical of all potteries of that era: highly functional crocks, jugs, and churns quite often marked with the names of proprietary businesses . Later there were what could be deemed decorative pieces made, an example of which is the planter. Highly desired by collectors are the crocks with handpainted blue birds, wheat sheafs and other iconographic figures. You can start collecting Brantford in the 20-50$ range but could expect to pay in the thousands for very rare pieces. |
